What is Locomotion about?

After losing his parents in a tragic fire, eleven-year-old Lonnie Collins Motion, nicknamed 'Locomotion,' is separated from his sister, Lili, and placed in a foster home. Struggling with grief and longing for his family, Lonnie discovers the power of poetry through his teacher, Ms. Marcus. Writing becomes his outlet to express emotions and navigate his new life with his foster mother, Miss Edna. Through verse, Lonnie embarks on a journey of healing, self-discovery, and hope for reuniting with Lili.
