What is A Very Special Friend about?

Maddy is stuck at home with her leg in plaster while her friends enjoy their holiday adventures without her. Just when she is feeling especially lonely, a tiny black-and-white kitten called Flame appears. But Flame is no ordinary kitten: he has magical powers and a talent for finding children who need help. Soon, Maddy is drawn into an exciting adventure and meets new friends who show her that an unexpected summer can still be full of fun, courage and friendship.

Schools use Pageticker to replace paper reading diaries, catalogue and track library books, run reading challenges and help children explore the world of books. It's proven to improve reading engagement, as well as significantly reducing teacher workload. Visit our For Schools page to learn more.

Yes, the Pageticker app is completely free and you are welcome to join thousands of families using it today to inspire their children to love reading. If you are a school, we charge for the teacher dashboard - this costs between £149 and £449 per year.
