Charlie is thrilled with the model rocket he has made at school, and he is eager to show it off at home. He gives Lola one very important warning: she must not touch it because it is extremely fragile. But Lola’s curiosity gets the better of her, and before long, something goes wrong. As Charlie tries to discover what happened, Lola comes up with her own version of events. Can she explain the mysterious accident without getting into trouble?

About the author

Lauren Child is a brilliant British author and illustrator, best known for creating the much-loved Charlie and Lola books. She has also written the Clarice Bean and Ruby Redfort series. Lauren’s stories are full of fun, clever ideas, and lively pictures that encourage children to use their imagination and enjoy reading.
