Eight-year-old Liz is fascinated by dinosaurs, so when her family goes camping in the Baja desert, she keeps watch for signs of one. After discovering enormous footprints, Liz follows the trail and finds a real Albertosaurus hiding nearby. Using leftover hamburgers, she bravely lures the dinosaur back to camp. Instead of sending him away, Liz’s astonished parents help bring him home. Soon Albert is living with the family, delighting the neighbours and turning everyday life into an extraordinary adventure.

Henry Schwartz was a writer who created books for children, sometimes working with his daughter, illustrator Amy Schwartz.
