What is Sonya's Chickens about?

Sonya loves her three chickens and cares for them from tiny, fluffy chicks to full-grown hens. They follow her everywhere, and soon they give her a precious egg. But one night, strange noises come from the coop, and one of the hens disappears. As Sonya learns what has happened, she faces the sadness of losing a creature she loves. Through her grief, she begins to understand the natural world, the circle of life and the deep joys of caring for another being.
