Franklin is puzzled when his friends start losing their teeth and receiving visits from the Tooth Fairy. Since turtles do not have teeth, he worries that he will miss out on this special sign of growing up. Franklin tries to find a way to take part, but soon discovers that being different is nothing to be ashamed of. With help from his family and friends, he learns that growing up does not look the same for everyone.
