As a child, Mae Jemison dreams of dancing among the stars and becoming an astronaut. She imagines floating through space, discovering new things and seeing the Earth from above. With encouragement from her mother and determination of her own, Mae works towards her dream, even when others doubt her. Her curiosity and courage eventually lead her to NASA, where she becomes the first African American woman to travel into space.
