What is Pants on Fire about?

Tony Trebelli tells enormous lies, but nobody believes him—until he gets a mysterious new pair of pants. The first fib makes them warm, the next creates a smoky smell, and soon the pants are setting the whole school under their spell. Even the headteacher believes Tony’s wildest stories. But when the pants become dangerously hot, Tony’s trick goes too far and he ends up exposed in the playground. Can he learn that telling the truth is better than getting caught in a fiery pair of lies?
