Spartapuss is a young cat living in the Feline Empire of ancient Rome, where humans have never existed. When a rude poem appears on the walls of a royal bathhouse, he is blamed and sent to prison. Soon he is transferred to a gladiator training school, just as the cruel Catligula seizes power and imposes bizarre new laws. To win his freedom, Spartapuss must survive the arena, outwit his enemies and uncover the truth behind the scandal.
About the author
Robin Price is a British author who writes funny, adventurous books for children. He is best known for the historical series Spartapuss, Beowuff and The Olympuss Games, which bring the ancient world to life with plenty of jokes and excitement. He also created the graphic novel London Deep, a thrilling story set beneath the streets of London. Robin has worked on stage and screen too, helping turn well-loved stories such as The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom into shows.
