Leo has wished for a pet hamster for Christmas, so he is overjoyed when a small furry friend arrives on Christmas morning. But Leo’s new pet is called Hampstead because of an autocorrect mistake, and there is another problem: Hampstead seems terribly unhappy. Determined to help, Leo tries to discover what is wrong and find a way to cheer him up. This warm, funny story follows a boy learning that caring for a pet means understanding its needs and feelings.

Michael Rosen is a much-loved British author and poet. He is famous for writing funny and imaginative books for children, including the classic story 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'. Michael enjoys performing his poems and stories, and he loves to make children laugh and think with his playful use of words.
