What is Tom's war patrol about?

When Tom’s evacuee friend Scouser returns to Liverpool, Tom joins the Orchard Road Gang’s wartime patrols. The children have seen soldiers coming home from Dunkirk and realise the war is far from a game. When Scouser’s family is killed in a bombing raid, the gang seeks revenge. But after a German pilot crashes nearby, Tom and Molly face the frightening truth of war. As rivalries turn violent, Tom is injured and must confront the confusing cost of courage and conflict.

Robert Leeson was a brilliant British author who wrote over 70 books for children and young people. He is best known for his exciting adventure story 'The Third Class Genie' and the historical novel 'Silver's Revenge'. Robert loved making up stories that spark the imagination and inspire children to enjoy reading.
