What is Rainbow Crow about?

When winter blankets the woodland in deep snow, the animals grow cold, hungry and afraid. Rainbow Crow, admired for his beautiful feathers and sweet voice, bravely travels to ask the Great Sky Spirit for help. He returns carrying the precious gift of fire, but the long journey through the flames changes him forever. His bright colours fade, and his voice becomes rough. This moving Lenape tale explains how the crow came to look and sound as he does today.
