What is The Penderwicks: a summer tale of four sisters, two rabbits, and a very interesting boy about?

Four sisters spend the summer with their widowed father at Arundel, a grand estate in the Berkshire Mountains. Rosalind, Skye, Jane and Batty soon befriend Jeffrey, a lonely boy who lives nearby, and together they explore the grounds, rescue animals and cause plenty of mischief. But Jeffrey’s stern, snobbish mother disapproves of the friendship. As secrets, quarrels and unexpected dangers unfold, the sisters discover that a memorable holiday can bring both adventure and challenges to overcome.
