Synopsis

Thirteen-year-old Gabriel Avery, a skilled pickpocket, uses his talents to support himself and his grandmother. When he's caught, instead of facing arrest, he's invited to Crookhaven—a secretive school that trains young thieves to use their skills for good. At Crookhaven, students learn lock-picking, forgery, and 'crim-nastics' to con the corrupt and aid the innocent. As Gabriel competes to be crowned Top Crook, he uncovers hidden family secrets and questions whether a thief can truly be trusted.
