What is Swallowdale about?
The Swallows return to the Lake District for another summer of sailing, camping and adventure with the Amazon pirates, Nancy and Peggy. Their plans are thrown into chaos when the Swallow is wrecked and Great-Aunt Maria arrives, determined to impose proper behaviour on the girls. Unable to stay on Wild Cat Island, the children discover a hidden valley called Swallowdale. As they build a new camp and face fresh challenges, courage, teamwork and careful judgement are put to the test.
