In a pet shop window, five posh pedigree puppies mock a scruffy little mongrel who dreams of becoming a guard dog. Despite his small size and an ear-splitting bark, the mongrel is determined to prove his worth. Will he find a home that appreciates his unique talents, or is he destined for the dogs' home?
About the author
Dick King-Smith was a much-loved British author who wrote over 100 books for children, often about animals and farms. His most famous story is 'The Sheep-Pig', which inspired the popular film 'Babe'. Dick loved spending time with animals and used his real-life experiences to create his wonderful, imaginative stories.
