Synopsis
Farmer Buzzard's collie, Kay, has four puppies. Three are fine, but the fourth, Smasher, is the ugliest and most troublesome. He chases chickens, chews slippers, and isn't house-trained. Mrs. Buzzard wants him gone, but Farmer Buzzard is too kind-hearted. When a burglar breaks in, Smasher finally gets a chance to prove his worth.
About the author
Dick King-Smith was a much-loved British author who wrote over 100 books for children, often about animals and farms. His most famous story is 'The Sheep-Pig', which inspired the popular film 'Babe'. Dick loved spending time with animals and used his real-life experiences to create his wonderful, imaginative stories.
