Walter Kettle is an ordinary boy until a bite from a radioactive squirrel grants him the power to transform into Squirrel Boy whenever he eats a nut. With his formidable 73-year-old neighbour, Mrs Onions, as his mentor, Walter embarks on a mission to thwart the mischievous Bogeyman, a villain born from a radioactive bug and a nose-picking mishap. Together, they strive to protect their town from this snotty menace.
