Synopsis
Eleven-year-old Danny's world is upended when his Chinese grandmother, Nai Nai, moves in, claiming the top bunk in his room. Struggling with maths and unable to communicate with Nai Nai, who speaks no English, Danny feels they have nothing in common. Tasked with looking after her, he leaves her at the bingo hall, only to discover unexpected challenges. Through shared experiences in maths and art, Danny realises they share more than he thought, bridging cultural and generational gaps.
