Synopsis
In 1945, as Russian forces advance into East Prussia, young Bruno and his mother flee their home. Amidst the chaos, Bruno encounters a large black dog, Frida, trained by the Russian army as a suicide bomber. Recognising her fear and loneliness, Bruno forms a bond with Frida. Together, they embark on a perilous journey across war-torn Germany, relying on their newfound friendship to survive the dangers that surround them.
