Alexis, a young girl, learns that her elderly neighbour, Marj, has always dreamed of visiting China. Determined to make Marj's birthday special, Alexis decides to dig a tunnel straight through the Earth to reach the distant land. After days of digging, she emerges in China, explores its wonders, and returns home with a postcard as a heartfelt gift for Marj.
