Synopsis

In 978 CE Baghdad, thirteen-year-old Jabir seeks work to support his family. After being caught stealing bread, he's imprisoned but released when his talent for woodcarving is discovered. Tasked with crafting twelve golden horsemen for Caliph Harun al-Rashid's gift to Emperor Charlemagne, Jabir faces sabotage and danger.
