What is Tom and the Tinful of Trouble about?

Tom discovers a tin of red paint and, after a brief moment of contemplation, decides to redecorate the front room. It takes him three minutes to open the tin and three hours to paint the room a vibrant red. When Mum returns, she is shocked and exclaims, 'HOLY MACKEREL!' It then takes her the entire day to calm down.
