Dozy Mare is the laziest horse on the farm. She will not trot for the farmer, pull for his wife, play cowboys with their son or leap for their daughter. Nothing tempts her—not carrots, oats, apples or even sugar lumps. Eventually, she is sold to a tinker, then a circus and finally a butcher. But just when everyone thinks Dozy Mare is useless, she reveals a surprising secret: beneath her sleepy manner, she can run faster than the wind!
