What is The Young Performing Horse about?

Twins Vicky and Bertie need a horse to carry them to school, so their father gives them two guineas to spend at auction. The only animal left is a shabby little pony, described as a “Young Performing Horse”. Soon the twins discover that their new companion can do far more than walk and carry them: he learns sums, joins in their lessons and displays astonishing talents. When they travel to London to seek fame on the stage, the clever horse becomes their star attraction.
