Doris is starting school, but she is so shy that her voice is hardly more than a whisper. Her noisy brother, Boris, keeps telling her to speak up, yet Doris cannot find the courage to sing loudly in class. On the way home, Boris tumbles into a deep hole and needs help. Suddenly, Doris discovers her voice and shouts as loudly as she can. Her brave cry brings help and proves that even the quietest person can save the day.

Sam Lloyd is a brilliant author and illustrator who loves creating funny and colourful books for children. She is best known for her popular picture book 'Calm Down, Boris!', which has made many readers laugh with its friendly orange monster.
