What is Dog Dottington about?

The seven members of the Dottington family are each frightened of something, from thunderstorms to spiders and everything in between. They decide that getting a dog will make them all feel safer, and Hero seems like the perfect choice. But when Hero arrives, they discover that he is terrified of absolutely everything. As the Dottingtons comfort their nervous new pet, they gradually forget about their own fears and learn that courage can grow when a family faces worries together.
