What is The Gingerbread Man Based on a Traditional Folk Tale about?
A freshly baked gingerbread man suddenly leaps from the oven and races away, shouting that nobody can catch him. He dashes past the old woman and old man who made him, then speeds away from a cow, a horse and a hungry fox. The fox seems friendly and offers to help him cross a river, but the gingerbread man soon discovers that he may have run into the one creature clever enough to catch him.
