Hansel and Gretel live with their parents at the edge of a dark forest, where hunger and hardship threaten their family. When the children are abandoned among the trees, they follow a trail of breadcrumbs, hoping to find their way home. Instead, they discover a tempting house made of sweets—and a witch with a terrible plan. Trapped and frightened, Hansel and Gretel must use their courage, quick thinking and love for one another to escape and find safety.
About the author
Michael Morpurgo is a much-loved British author who has written over a hundred books for children. He is best known for his story 'War Horse', which was made into a play and a film. Michael often writes about animals and adventures, inspiring children to imagine exciting worlds and discover the magic of stories.
