What is A Horse Called Hero about?
In 1940, as German bombs threaten London, Dodo and her horse-mad younger brother Wolfie are evacuated to the countryside. Lonely and far from home, they discover an orphaned foal struggling to survive. They name him Hero and pour their care into raising, training and riding him. At last, life feels exciting again—but the war is drawing closer. When danger reaches their peaceful village, Dodo, Wolfie and Hero must find the courage to live up to his name.
