What is A Sudden Glow of Gold about?
Toby cannot understand why Mum wants him to clear out his bedroom. Every object seems too important to throw away, from old toys to a dusty brass lamp. But when Toby polishes the lamp, a genie appears and turns his ideas about wanting and needing upside down. As the genie’s lessons unfold, Toby discovers that having more does not always make life better—and that some of the things we value most cannot be kept in a cupboard.
