Synopsis

Martin, an unusual farm kitten, prefers befriending mice over hunting them. He adopts Drusilla, a pregnant mouse, and cares for her and her offspring in the attic. As the mouse family grows, Martin faces challenges in providing for them and understanding their desire for freedom. His perspective shifts dramatically when he himself becomes a pet in a city apartment, leading him to realise the true meaning of liberty and friendship.

About the author

Dick King-Smith was a much-loved British author who wrote over 100 books for children, often about animals and farms. His most famous story is 'The Sheep-Pig', which inspired the popular film 'Babe'. Dick loved spending time with animals and used his real-life experiences to create his wonderful, imaginative stories.
