What is Emily's New Coaches about?

Emily is asked by the Fat Controller to find some coaches for her new duties. At the docks, she discovers Annie and Clarabel and proudly takes them away. But Thomas is upset when he sees his coaches being pulled by another engine, and soon everyone thinks Emily has taken them. Can the engines solve the confusion? Once the truth is discovered, Thomas apologises, and the engines celebrate Emily’s arrival with a cheerful welcome party.

About the author

W. Awdry was a kind and imaginative author from England who loved telling stories about trains. He is best known for creating Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends in the much-loved Railway Series books. His charming tales have delighted children for generations, bringing the adventures of the Island of Sodor to life.
