Synopsis

At St Barty's Primary School, lunch breaks are a nightmare thanks to Mrs Chipchase, the unpleasant dinner lady. About the author

Humphrey Carpenter was a British writer who loved telling stories and sharing facts about famous people. He is well known for writing about authors such as J.R.R. Tolkien, who created The Lord of the Rings. Humphrey also wrote fun books for children, including the Mr Majeika series, about a magical schoolteacher.
