What is Mr Majeika and the Dinner Lady about?

At St Barty's Primary School, lunch breaks are a nightmare thanks to Mrs Chipchase, the unpleasant dinner lady. She makes mealtimes miserable for everyone except her favourite, Hamish Bigmore, who gets away with eating chocolate instead of the unappetising school dinners. Determined to improve the situation, the magical Mr Majeika steps in to transform the menu, leading to a series of enchanting and humorous events that bring excitement to the school.

About the author

Humphrey Carpenter was a British author who loved writing stories for children and grown-ups. He is best known for creating the popular 'Mr Majeika' books, which are all about a magical teacher and his adventures with his class. Humphrey enjoyed making people smile with his imaginative tales and wonderful characters.
