What is The Roundhill about?
In the summer of 1936, fourteen-year-old Evan cherishes his visits to the Roundhill, a beloved spot visible from his bedroom window. One day, he encounters a mysterious girl in old-fashioned attire who appears and disappears without explanation. As their friendship grows, Evan realises she is the ghost of Alice Liddell—the real-life inspiration for 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'—revisiting a cherished place from her childhood. Intriguingly, Alice once stayed in Evan's very own bedroom.
About the author
Dick King-Smith was a much-loved British author who wrote over 100 books for children, often about animals and farms. His most famous story is 'The Sheep-Pig', which inspired the popular film 'Babe'. Dick loved spending time with animals and used his real-life experiences to create his wonderful, imaginative stories.
