A young girl’s life is shattered when war destroys her home and family. Alone, she embarks on a perilous journey to find safety, only to face rejection and isolation. Just when hope seems lost, a simple act of kindness from another child offers her a chance to rebuild and belong.

About the author

Nicola Davies is a British author who loves writing books about animals and nature. She used to work as a zoologist, which means she studied animals for her job! Nicola has written many popular books, such as 'The Promise' and 'Tiny: The Invisible World of Microbes', helping children discover the wonders of the natural world.
