Synopsis

At the Old Horses' Home, Captain, Ladybird, and Herbert—two Shire horses and a Suffolk Punch—are dismayed when Jenny, a retired seaside donkey, joins them. They believe the sanctuary is exclusively for horses and are reluctant to share their space. However, when horse thieves threaten the area, aiming to steal horses for meat, Jenny's courage and resourcefulness become vital. Can she and her new companions thwart the rustlers and protect their home?

About the author

Dick King-Smith was a much-loved British author who wrote over 100 books for children, often about animals and farms. His most famous story is 'The Sheep-Pig', which inspired the popular film 'Babe'. Dick loved spending time with animals and used his real-life experiences to create his wonderful, imaginative stories.
